David Baswell, MD
Dr. Baswell studied medicine at Albany Medical College in New York. He completed his internship at Hartford Hospital and his residency at Albany Medical Center. He has been practicing medicine since 1972 and has been affiliated with PAPC since 1990.
Bruce MacHaffie, MD
Dr. MacHaffie studied medicine at Oregon Health Science University. He trained in pediatrics at the Navy hospital in Portsmouth, VA, with additional training in developmental pediatrics. He has been practicing medicine since 1972 and has been affiliated with PAPC since 1993.

Dr McCaffery grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and did his undergraduate work at Wichita State University. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy in Des Moines, Iowa and trained in pediatrics in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dr McCaffery first practiced and taught in Fort Worth, Texas, then became an Assistant professor and head of the Pediatric Department at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He received numerous awards for his teaching and public service, including work on the Missouri Crippled Children's Commission and Governor's High Risk Maternal-Fetal Committee. He served as President of the American college of Osteopathic Pediatricians, and for many years chaired the grants committee of the National Osteopathic Foundation.
In 1981, Dr McCaffery moved to Colorado Springs, where he has built a busy pediatric practice. He has served Memorial Hospital as Chair of the Pediatric Section and as Chief of Staff, and been President of the Pikes Peak Pediatric Society. He is board certified and a Fellow of the Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. McCaffery's wife, Karen, is an avid needlework artist; they have two children and four grandchildren. His hobbies include antique cars and traveling the country in his RV.

Hope Slavoski, CPNP
Hope Slavoski is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She received her BSN from Southern Connecticut State University. She completed her nurse practitioner training and her Master of Science in nursing from the Catholic University of America. Her special interests include asthma, lactation consulting and adolescent health. She started working at Pediatric Associates in 2007.
